Special Recognition of SOS Leaders 2008


The annual “SOS Tribute” recognition program is held every year to recognize special achievements made by SOS throughout SOAR and other events. The 5th Annual SOS Tribute was held at an area restaurant and the SOS each received awards of appreciation. Several SOS received special awards, voted on by peers and by central office staff.

SOS Spirit Award Ariel_Spirit Award

SOS Spirit Award

This award is presented to the SOS who exemplifies the spirit of Orientation; the winner is selected by Central Staff.
The 2008 recipient is Ariel Gray.

SOS Captain’s Award Joey_Captain's Award

SOS Captain’s Award

The Captain’s Award is selected by the Captains and is awarded to a returning SOS who exemplifies leadership on the SOS team.
The 2008 recipient is Joey Burridge.

SOS Extra Mile Award Tyler_Extra Mile Award

SOS Extra Mile Award

This award is given to the SOS who always goes the “extra mile” for fellow staff members and SOAR participants. This person is chosen by Central Staff.
The 2008 recipient is Tyler Anderson.

SOS Silent Leader AwardMegan_Silent Leader

SOS Silent Leader Award

The silent leader is an SOS who epitomizes leadership, but remains out of the spotlight. This award is chosen by the SOS staff.
The 2008 recipient is Megan Letchworth.

Outstanding SOS of the Year Award Tristan_Outstanding Orientation Leader

Outstanding SOS of the Year Award

This award is selected by the SOS staff and is given to the SOS who best exemplifies the mission of the Orientation program. This person has Spartan spirit, a strong work ethic, creative ideas, teamwork, is tireless, quick-thinking, has positive energy and, most importantly, has a strong desire to serve all incoming students.
The 2008 recipient is Tristan Marrow.
