The “rawk” is a UNCG campus landmark.

Do you know the history and traditions behind it?

The “Rawk” was brought to campus in 1973 by Alpha Phi Omega to become the message board for campus. There is an unwritten rule that each message must remain posted for at least 24 hours before being painted over.

Rawkin’ Welcome Week 2008

Rawkin’ Welcome Week is one of the first events to check out when you come to campus in August! This is a full week of fun and exciting social, academic, and athletic events for new students to attend. Come to any Rawkin’ Welcome Week event to meet a new friend, chat with a faculty member, grab some food, check out resources on campus, or just have a great time!

 

Some examples of programs may include:

• SOAR Reunion
• Spartan Dance Party
• Spartan Service Projects
  (advance registration is required by completing Spartan Service Project 2007 Survey).
• Chancellor’s New Student Convocation
• Charlie’s Lawn Party/Live Bands
• Freshmen Summer Reading Project
